Climate Governance Malaysia (CGM) has been actively engaging with key stakeholders to advance climate governance and sustainability practices. Over the past weeks and months, we have held a series of meetings with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (MNRES), Bank Negara Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia and the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM).
These engagements provided an important platform for CGM to present our work and share the progress of initiatives carried out in the past, those currently underway, and those planned for the future. They also opened avenues to explore cooperation in strengthening governance frameworks, improving climate-related disclosures, and building greater capacity within corporate leadership.
Our discussions with each stakeholder reaffirmed a shared commitment to align Malaysia’s financial, regulatory, and corporate ecosystems with the global sustainability agenda. From strengthening climate disclosure practices to advancing board-level climate literacy, these conversations highlighted the vital role of multi-stakeholder cooperation in accelerating the transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the stakeholders that welcomed us and engaged in these constructive discussions. CGM looks forward to continuing this cooperation and working together to build momentum for meaningful climate action in Malaysia.
