The National Climate Governance Summit (NCGS) 2026 brought together leaders from business, government, academia, civil society and other sectors to explore climate governance and pathways towards resilience under the theme “Resilience in a Hothouse World”. Held from 3 to 7 August 2026, the Summit provided a platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing and collaboration on the governance, financial and practical approaches needed to address climate-related challenges.

The fourth edition of CGM’s flagship Summit brought together 130+ speakers and more than 3,000 cumulative attendance across a five-day programme, featuring 15 plenary sessions and 34 workshops and masterclasses. The summit also reached 1,000+ online plenary viewers, alongside 450+ physical attendees across the plenary sessions, reflecting the breadth of engagement across the hybrid programme.

To capture the Summit’s reach, outcomes and key discussions, Climate Governance Malaysia has released two NCGS 2026 Impact Reports.

Impact Report 1: Summit Highlights and Impact

The first report provides an overview of NCGS 2026, highlighting the Summit’s scale, participation and overall impact. It brings together key statistics on speakers, attendance and programme activities, alongside survey findings and feedback from speakers and participants. The report offers a snapshot of the Summit’s reach and the value participants gained from the sessions.

Impact Report 2: Summary of Proceedings

The second report documents the substance of the Summit’s discussions. Featuring summaries of the plenary sessions, workshops and masterclasses, it brings together key themes, insights and perspectives shared throughout the programme. The report serves as a resource for readers seeking to revisit the discussion and explore the issues, opportunities and approaches raised by speakers and participants.

Together, the two reports provide a comprehensive account of NCGS 2026 — from the Summit’s participation and impact to the ideas and insights that emerged from its sessions.

We invite board directors, business leaders, policymakers, practitioners and others working on climate governance and sustainability to explore the reports and reflect on the insights shared at the Summit.
