Kiu Jia Yaw

​Sustainable Development Lawyer, Kiu & Co.

Kiu Jia Yaw is a prominent Malaysian sustainable development lawyer and a leading advocate for environmental justice and climate governance. As the founder of Kiu & Co. and the Chair of the Bar Council Environment and Climate Change Committee, he plays a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia's legal response to the climate crisis. He is deeply integrated into national policy-making as the Co-Chair of the Malaysian CSO-SDG Alliance and a Secretariat Member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG). A Chevening Scholar with an LL.M. in Environmental Law from SOAS University of London, Jia Yaw was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia in 2023, where he contributes his legal expertise to the development of the National Planetary Health Action Plan.​

Philippe Joubert

Philippe Joubert is Founder and CEO of Earth on Board. He is also Senior Advisor for WBCSD, former Chairman of HRH The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change, Member of the Advisory Board of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and Fellow in this Institute. Member of the International Advisory Board of the World Energy Council. He is also Trustee of Client Earth. Philippe serves as a member of several Boards of Global Cies in Europe and Brazil and is advisor to CEO of large Global Cities. Philippe was previously President of Alstom Power and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Alstom Group.

Ian Monroe

Ian Monroe is the President and Chief Investment Officer of a pioneering climate investing firm Etho Capital, as well as a co-founder of the Climate+Positive Investing Alliance (C+PIA), the rapidly growing global community working to decarbonize investment portfolios. Monroe has also served as an advisor for several international sustainability certification standards, including Climate Neutral, Science Based Targets, and The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), and he has been awarded as an Echoing Green Climate Fellow, an Institutional Investor Rising Star, and one of Tech Republic's top 8 leaders in clean technology.

Shaun Adam

Geopolitics Asia Pacific

Shaun Adam leads the World Economic Forum’s regional and global cooperation between governments and businesses in the Asia-Pacific, focusing on sustainable and inclusive development, particularly in geopolitics and geoeconomics. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the International Institute of Geneva and a Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP). Previously, he worked with the United Nations on trade policy and socio-economic development across Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Western Balkans, and led trade and advocacy efforts for the European Union Business Chambers in ASEAN. Earlier in his career, he was attached to the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia, managing international programmes to support MSMEs. His work on social innovation has been featured at the Nobel Peace Centre, and he attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2017. He is also the author of Acts of Resistance, recognised among Malaysia’s top 50 books and showcased at the Frankfurter Buchmesse. Shaun holds a Master’s in International Business and Emerging Markets from the University of Edinburgh and is a recipient of the Edinburgh Award and the Global UK Alumni Honorary Award.

Rebekah Cheney

Rebekah Cheney is a recognised expert in climate governance, trusted by board members and C‑suite executives to advise on the strategic and regulatory dimensions of climate‑related risks and opportunities, in a rapidly evolving regulatory and stakeholder landscape.

Rebekah is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Climate & Nature Governance and serves on the Advisory Council of the Climate Governance Initiative in Australia, hosted by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Rebekah is a lead author of the Global Principles of Climate & Nature Governance and the AICD Directors’ Guide to Mandatory Climate Reporting and more broadly known as a thought leader on climate and nature governance, with published work developed in collaboration with the World Economic Forum on decarbonisation, climate stakeholders, nature, just transition and climate integrity available at www.deloitte.com/climate-governance.

Rebekah regularly advises boards and senior executives on the intersection of corporate governance and climate-related risks and opportunities (including mandatory climate and sustainability reporting) supporting directors to meet regulatory expectations while building resilience and long‑term value.

She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a lawyer qualified in both New South Wales and England & Wales and has completed the Leading Sustainable Corporations executive programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Sarah Barker is a globally recognized commercial lawyer and a leading authority on climate change risk and corporate governance. As a Managing Director at Pollination, she leads the firm's climate and sustainability risk governance practice, advising boards of some of the world's largest financial institutions and corporations on the legal implications of the net-zero transition. Previously, she served as a Partner and Global Head of Climate & Sustainability at MinterEllison. She holds several high-level international roles, including Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Climate and Nature Governance and a leadership position at the Commonwealth Climate and Law Initiative. Her work is pivotal in reframing climate change from an ethical "CSR" issue to a core financial and fiduciary duty for directors.
