CGM Climate and Law Conference 2026: Access the Official Impact Reports and Session Highlights

The CGM Climate and Law Conference 2026 brought together perspectives from the legal, policy, business and sustainability communities to examine how climate commitments and emerging legal developments are shaping laws, regulatory frameworks and corporate governance. Held from 21 to 23 September 2026, the three-day conference explored global developments in climate law and litigation, alongside the implications for businesses, policymakers and legal practitioners navigating Malaysia’s net-zero transition.
The conference featured 62 speakers and moderators across 25 main programme sessions, alongside five physical parallel streams on Day 3. Across the three days, the conference recorded 1,193 attendees, comprising 1,084 virtual attendees across Days 1 and 2 and 109 physical attendees on Day 3. The programme brought together diverse perspectives on the evolving relationship between climate action, legal accountability and corporate decision-making.
To document the conference’s reach and preserve the insights shared throughout the programme, Climate Governance Malaysia has released two Climate and Law Conference 2026 Impact Reports.
Impact Report 1: Conference Highlights and Impact
The first report provides an overview of the conference’s scale, participation and overall impact. It brings together key statistics on speakers, attendance and programme sessions, alongside survey findings and feedback from attendees. The report offers a snapshot of the conference’s reach and engagement, reflecting the range of perspectives and discussions represented across its three-day programme.

Impact Report 2: Summary of Proceedings
The second report captures the key discussions and insights from the conference proceedings. It features summaries of the plenary sessions, panels and other sessions held throughout the programme, covering issues including climate litigation, corporate accountability, climate liability, shareholder activism, climate-biodiversity considerations, insurance, human rights and the just transition.
By bringing these discussions together, the report offers a reference for readers seeking to revisit the issues raised, understand emerging legal and governance developments, and consider their implications for legal practice, business strategy and climate-related decision-making.

Note: The photograph features only a selection of speakers from the conference.
Together, these two reports provide a broader account of the Climate and Law Conference 2026 — from its participation and engagement to the legal developments, challenges and perspectives explored throughout the programme. They offer an opportunity to revisit the discussions and consider how climate-related legal developments can inform stronger governance, accountability and action.
CGM invites board directors, business leaders, policymakers, legal practitioners and others working on climate governance and sustainability to explore the reports and reflect on the insights shared at the conference.
