Climate Governance Malaysia (CGM) is proud to announce the release of the CGM Roundtable Series 2025 Impact Report, capturing insights from a landmark multi-stakeholder initiative designed to advance Malaysia’s climate governance.

The Roundtable Series 2025 was established to create a structured, evidence-driven platform where the nation’s most pressing climate challenges could be explored through the combined perspectives of science, policy, finance, and lived experience. Recognising that effective national responses depend on translating knowledge into actionable decisions, the Series was conceived not just as a discussion forum but as a generator of practical, multisectoral insights to guide Malaysia’s transition pathways.

Between 1 October and 25 November 2025, CGM convened 20 thematic sessions covering the full spectrum of the country’s climate landscape from sustainable power systems, urban resilience, and circular construction, to food and water security, nature protection, adaptation finance, and community empowerment. Each track was developed in partnership with leading expert organisations, ensuring sessions were grounded in the latest science, technical expertise, and operational realities.

A defining feature of the Series was its ability to bring together stakeholders who rarely engage in the same forum. Regulators, industry associations, investors, civil society, and local communities exchanged perspectives, enabling a clearer understanding of systemic barriers such as data gaps, financing constraints, capacity limitations, and slow adoption of innovation. These insights provide a foundation for a just, implementable, and nationally coherent climate transition.

The Series engaged 1,587 participants and featured 98 expert speakers and moderators, marking one of the broadest multisector climate dialogues in Malaysia to date. Discussions spanned sustainable cities, clean energy, biodiversity protection, resilient agriculture, and market-driven climate solutions, while ensuring youth and community voices were heard, reinforcing the inclusivity of the transition.

CGM extends its deepest appreciation to an exceptional group of volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to preparing the CGM Roundtable Series Summaries throughout October 2025. We warmly thank Ms. Sasha Mahadevan Flint, Ms. Aanchal Mehrohtra, Mr. Adam Kamhawi, and Ms. Grace Yap Mei Wan for their diligence, commitment, and thoughtful analysis in capturing the key ideas, challenges, and opportunities shared across the roundtables. Their contributions are central to CGM’s ability to deliver high-quality resources that advance climate leadership in Malaysia.

CGM also gratefully acknowledges Dr. Salim Khubchandani, whose careful review and guidance ensured the clarity, accuracy, and overall quality of the final summaries. Together with our volunteers, his support was instrumental to the success of this Series.

We further thank all participants, speakers, contributors, as well as CGM’s Council and Board members and Secretariat, whose collective efforts have made the Roundtable Series an invaluable platform for advancing climate leadership in Malaysia.

The full Impact Report is now released alongside this blog post, providing in-depth insights and actionable recommendations for policymakers, businesses, and civil society.

We thank everyone for their continued support in strengthening Malaysia’s journey toward a more climate-resilient future, and we look forward to continuing this work in future initiatives.
