About the event

Annually, the world generates 1.3 billion tons of solid waste. This is expected to go up to 2.2 billion by 2025. Businesses are thinking about how to reduce consumer waste. This is partly driven by the rising price of raw materials and partly due to both consumers and companies becoming more aware of the need to protect our environment and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  Reducing, reusing and recycling waste is important for the environment, but it can also be profitable. It decreases the amount of waste for disposal, saves space in landfills, and conserves natural resources. Finally, waste management is also important for public health.  With the need to address the above a Round Table series on the Waste / Recycling Sector is being organized by the CEO Action Network and Climate Governance Malaysia.

Session 1 [30 June 2022] : will address corporations and consumers -the objective of this session will be to share current initiatives on managing waste.

Session 2 [12 July 2022] : will address the idea of having Smart Cities and Technological Solutions to address waste management-the objective will be to share concepts/ ideas on latest technologies and how these can help resolve waste issues within the community.

Session 3 [09 August 2022] : will be a conversation with the Government to understand how the private and public sector can work hand in hand to address waste management.
