National Climate Governance Summit 2024

The National Climate Governance Summit (NCGS) returns as the flagship event of Climate Governance Malaysia (CGM) for its second year, spanning three days from September 10 to 12, 2024. This edition promises to be even more ambitious, featuring CGM's International Advisory Panel of global climate leaders at the forefront.

Key events include:

  • CGM's International Advisory Panel Summit: An exclusive gathering by invitation, bringing together policymakers and regulators to strategize on enhancing national climate resilience.
  • Workshops and Masterclasses: Engaging sessions comprising 18 workshops and 8 masterclasses covering various dimensions of the climate crisis.
  • University Satellite Events: Simultaneous events hosted at 16 universities to involve students and academic communities in discussions on climate governance.

Last year, the inaugural National Climate Governance Summit, co-organized by the Companies Commission of Malaysia and Climate Governance Malaysia, took place from 5-7 September 2023 at Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia’s center for knowledge and learning. Under the patronage of the Regent of Pahang, Crown Prince of Pahang, the summit brought together 105 speakers and panelists representing a diverse spectrum including ministers, scientists, engineers, conservationists, academics, and international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank. Renowned speakers from diverse backgrounds contributed to the discussions, including Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Thelma Krug, HE Prof. Lyonpho Thakur S Powdyel, and HE Michalis Rokas. NCGS 2023 featured 18 workshops and attracted an audience of over 2,200. Explore the Impact Report for more details.
