In conjunction with the Malaysian Pavilion at the COP 30 Conference in Belém, Brazil, we are pleased to announce the release of the Malaysian Support for the COP 30 Impact Report, documenting Malaysia’s engagement, insights, and contributions throughout COP 30.

The Impact Report captures key discussions, perspectives, and outcomes from the Malaysian Support for COP 30 Event, a 10-day online programme held in parallel with the COP30 conference. Designed to complement on-the-ground negotiations in Belém, the programme served as a platform to convene Malaysian and international stakeholders, elevate Malaysian perspectives, and translate global climate dialogues into actionable insights for Malaysia’s transition.

Held alongside COP 30, the event brought together 457 participants and 57 speakers from 10 countries, reflecting strong cross-sector and international engagement. The programme was honoured by the participation of the Former Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Yang Berhormat Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who was invited to support the initiative. It also featured speakers and contributors from World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) alongside other organisations.

The curated series of sessions was structured to provide strategic reflections, leadership insights, and real-time updates from COP 30, ensuring that Malaysian stakeholders remained connected to the evolving discussions in Belém.

The Impact Report documents insights from five core programme segments:

  1. A Conversation with the Chair of the Council of Climate Governance Malaysia

Strategic reflections by Dr. Gary Theseira on climate governance, leadership, and Malaysia’s role in advancing credible and ambitious climate action featuring a special guest who would give their insights on these topics.

  2. C-Suite Highlights

Perspectives from Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), and Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs) on corporate leadership, transition strategies, and the integration of climate considerations into business decision-making curated and supported by Karl Godderis, former Eurocham Malaysia CEO.

  3. Live from Belém

On-the-ground updates and analysis from COP 30 provided by BCG offering real-time insights into negotiations, emerging themes, and global trends.

  4. NGO Pavilion Session by WWF

Discussions focused on nature-based solutions, biodiversity protection, and the critical role of civil society in advancing climate ambition.

  5. Industry Pavilion Sessions by the World Bank Group and UNDP

Dialogues on transition finance, policy alignment, and international support mechanisms to enable an equitable and inclusive low-carbon transition.

Over the 10 days, the programme brought together participants from government, industry, civil society, academia, and youth groups to examine pressing climate issues and global climate priorities, culminating in key reflections from Brazil.

The diversity of voices enriched the discussions, highlighting both the urgency of climate action and the depth of Malaysian capability, expertise, and innovation that can be mobilised to drive climate progress.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all speakers and participants for their time, insights, and active engagement throughout the programme. This initiative was made possible through close collaboration with our partners and contributors.

A key message reinforced throughout the programme and captured in the Impact Report is that climate action does not begin or end with global conferences. Instead, meaningful progress depends on continued engagement, sustained collaboration, and collective effort beyond COP 30, with ongoing momentum at the national and regional levels to ensure that Malaysia’s climate transition pathway remains inclusive, ambitious, and forward-focused.

Together, we can accelerate Malaysia’s transition towards a greener, more resilient, and climate-secure future.
