Workshop and Masterclass
- 01The National Climate Governance Summit (NCGS) is Climate Governance Malaysia's flagship annual convening platform. Now in its fourth year, NCGS brings together board directors, C-suite leaders, policymakers, regulators, investors, professional bodies, academia, civil society organisations, and climate experts to advance practical climate governance, resilience, and transition strategies. - 03Yes. All Workshops and Masterclasses sit within the overarching NCGS 2026 theme: "Resilience in a Hothouse World" However, we intentionally provide session hosts with significant flexibility to curate topics that best reflect their expertise, priorities, and practical experiences.The Masterclass tracks are currently organised around three broad themes:Day 3 (5 August 2026): Reporting & DisclosureDay 4 (6 August 2026): Nature & BiodiversityDay 5 (7 August 2026): Climate ResilienceThe Workshops are organised under a broader Professions & Industries track and are intended to showcase practical implementation experiences, lessons learned, sector-specific insights, and real-world case studies. We encourage organisations to propose topics that align with both their expertise and the overall NCGS theme.
- 04Sessions are primarily conducted in person at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur. We strongly encourage speakers to attend physically to maximise engagement and networking opportunities.
- 05The audience for NCGS is predominantly made up of decision-makers, governance professionals, and sustainability practitioners from both the public and private sectors. Based on NCGS 2025 participant data, approximately one-third of attendees were Board Members, Directors, C-suite executives, and Senior Management. We also welcomed a significant number of Company Secretaries, ESG and compliance professionals, consultants, investors, regulators, policymakers, and sustainability practitioners. - 06Participants generally seek practical and actionable insights rather than introductory concepts. - 07Hosts are free to propose the format that best achieves their objectives. - 08The default room arrangement for Workshops and Masterclasses will be: Seating ArrangementRoundtable-style seating for approximately 50 participantsShould attendance exceed room capacity, additional theatre-style seating (approximately 20 seats) will be arranged at the back of the room to maximise participation Audio-Visual Equipment ProvidedThe following equipment will be available in the room:4 handheld wireless microphones2 lapel microphonesProjector and screenPresentation clickerStandard laptop connectivity support If you intend to connect your own laptop, please let the CGM Secretariat know in advance, including the laptop model, so we can prepare any necessary adapters or converters. Speaking AreaWorkshops and Masterclasses will not have a raised stage.A rostrum (lectern) will be provided at the front of the room. Speakers are welcome to:Present from the rostrum;Move around the room during the session; orFacilitate discussions directly with participants. If your session involves multiple speakers and you would prefer a panel-style discussion setup at the front of the room, please let us know in advance. We will be happy to arrange additional chairs and seating for panellists.
- 09Yes. All sessions will be professionally recorded. Recordings may be:Uploaded to CGM's YouTube channel;Shared with participants after the Summit;Used for educational and promotional purposes.
- 10Yes. Professional photographers will be present throughout the Summit. Photos may be used for:Summit reportsEvent highlightsSocial mediaMarketing and promotional materials Once the edited photos are received from the photography team, CGM will share the relevant photos with speakers and session curators for reference and use.
- 11Yes. CGM will design a dedicated Workshop / Masterclass poster* featuring your session details, speaker information, and organisation logo. This poster will be shared with your organisation and speakers for promotional purposes. We strongly encourage you to share it with your networks to help promote the session and encourage strong attendance. Workshop and Masterclass hosts may be featured through:NCGS websiteSocial media channelsEmail newslettersSummit programme materialsEvent posters *Upon receiving the organisation's logos, speaker profiles, and session details.
- 12Media will be invited to NCGS 2026 as part of the overall Summit.However, we cannot guarantee whether media representatives will attend or sit in on specific workshops or masterclasses. If you have any concerns regarding media presence, sensitive content, or attribution during your session, please inform the CGM Secretariat as early as possible so that we may take the necessary steps where feasible. Kindly note that event photographers and videographers will be present.
- 13Estimated attendance: 20–60 participants Actual attendance may vary depending on topic and programme schedule. We strongly encourage all session hosts to promote NCGS 2026 and their specific session to their own networks. If there are particular organisations, stakeholder groups, professional communities, or audience segments you would like CGM to invite, please liaise with the CGM Secretariat. We would be happy to share the general invitation language or support targeted outreach where feasible.

- 15We are flexible. If you intend to use slides, kindly submit them to: jiatian@cgmalaysia.com no later than 20 July 2026.This helps us ensure smooth technical preparation and allows us to have a backup copy available onsite should any technical issues arise. If you intend to use your own laptop during the session, kindly inform the CGM Secretariat in advance, including:Laptop brand/modelOperating system (Windows or Mac/iOS)Any specific connection requirementsWe will prepare the appropriate cables, adapters, or converters for your session. We would also like to request your consent for CGM to share the PDF version of your slides with Summit participants after the event.If there are any slides, data, images, or content that may be shown during the live session but should not be circulated after the Summit, please let us know.In such cases, kindly provide a shareable PDF version of the slides to CGM by 10 August 2026 for post-Summit sharing.
- 16Through NCGS 2026, we hope participants will:Gain practical knowledge and insights;Learn from real-world implementation experiences;Strengthen climate governance and resilience capabilities;Build new partnerships and collaborations; andTranslate learning into action through the NCGS Impact Pledge initiative. Ultimately, we want participants to leave with concrete ideas and actions that can be implemented within their organisations and communities.
- 17To help capture participant feedback for each Workshop and Masterclass, CGM will set up a dedicated feedback system through the Whova event platform. We highly encourage session hosts to remind participants at the end of the session to:Open the Whova app and submit feedback for the session; orApproach the CGM ushers stationed in the room, who can assist participants in submitting feedback using their laptops or devices. Participant feedback helps us better understand the learning experience, identify key takeaways, and improve future programmes. We are grateful for your support in encouraging participants to complete the feedback process before leaving the session. Where available, CGM will be pleased to share a summary of the feedback received with the session host after the Summit.
