Global Summit: Understanding Developing Opportunities Across Carbon Markets

Synopsis

Hosted by Climate Governance Malaysia in collaboration with the INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre, the topic is geared towards non-executive directors who want to understand how to challenge their company’s offsetting strategy. This webinar will augment a director’s view on how to offset remaining emissions with a focus on the developing opportunities across carbon markets. Non-executive directors are likely to be faced with a the daunting task of ensuring their businesses achieve net zero well before 2050.  The majority of the effort will focus on emissions reduction through fundamental business restructuring and shifting to carbon operating practices. However, most companies will face the need to offset remaining emissions during the  business transition period and for many, on a longer term basis.    Led by Karen Fawcett, board member of INSEAD and moderated by Lucie Tepla, INSEAD Senior Affiliate Professor of Finance, the discussion panel will showcase top global experts and professionals in carbon offset markets who will share with us the carbon offset options available and how boards can evaluate these options to choose the most optimal solution for their company, the pitfalls to avoid and the developing trends of the carbon offset markets.
