Synopsis

This session is geared towards non-executive directors who want to understand options available to decarbonise the shipping industry and lessons to date from industry leaders.

Shipping represents close to 3% of global carbon emissions, and uses some of the most carbon intensive fuels currently available. In a highly capital intensive industry with ships lasting 20-30 years, it is clear that decisions being made over the next 10 years will be critical to meet global ambitions and decarbonise by 2050.

This session will provide non-executive directors the opportunity to hear and learn from four of the most experienced shipping leaders around the topic of the Energy Transition. Each leader brings several decades of relevant experience in different aspects of shipping energy usage.
