Bill Winters is Group Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank and leading the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets. Bill was appointed Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered PLC in June 2015 and Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank in April 2019. He is a career banker with significant frontline global banking experience and a proven track record of leadership and financial success. TSVCM is a private sector led initiative initiated by Mark Carney and sponsored by the International Institute of Finance (IIF). TSVCM aims to ensure effective and efficient voluntary carbon markets to help meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. The Taskforce published its blueprint in January 2021.

David Antonioli is Chief Executive Officer of Verra. Verra’s global standards and frameworks serve as lynchpins for channelling finance towards high-impact activities through various programmes including the VCS, the world’s largest voluntary GHG program for emission reductions and removals, including forest and wetland conservation and restoration, agricultural land management, transport efficiency improvements, and many others. There are currently almost 1,600 registered projects in over 82 countries that have generated more than 450 million carbon credits, the equivalent of 98 million passenger vehicles being taken off the road for one year.

Ken Newcombe, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder C Quest Capital, has over 35 years of experience in developing financially viable sustainable energy and forestry projects in the developing countries and is one of the world’s pioneers in carbon offset development. Cquests investment projects have improved the lives of over 16,000,000 people and have reduced over 2,000,000 tonnes of CO₂ emission reductions and counting by focussing on reducing emissions from cook stoves. CQuest is responsible for 1/3rd of all Certified Emission Reductions issued to date by the United Nations serving 2.5 million households with efficient lighting and 1 million people in Sub-Saharan African with cleaner cookstoves & cleaner air.

Bill Pazos is a carbon market pioneer who has managed emerging market and high yield investments for more than 25 years. Bill is Co-Founder Chief Operating Officer of Air Carbon exchange, a new exchange based in Singapore and supported by the Singapore government. The AirCarbon Exchange offers Corporate Clients a transparent marketplace with traceable and fungible securities that meet demand. As the Exchange is blockchain-based, it allows all participants to look at the specific carbon credits underlying any AirCarbon Token available on the Exchange. The ownership details of tokens are kept anonymous by default to ensure confidentiality but can be made public for companies interested in sharing their carbon purchases with their customers.

Lucie Tepla is a Senior Affiliate Professor of Finance at INSEAD where she teaches on Sustainable Finance in degree and Executive Education programmes. Lucie holds a PhD in Operations Research and Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University and has worked for BZW, Credit Suisse and Cornerstone Research.
