Climate Governance Malaysia was launched in May 2019, the second country in the world (& first in Asia) to set up the World Economic Forum's Climate Governance Initiative.
Datin Sunita Rajakumar
is a professional independent director and a strong advocate of the importance of governance in general and risk management in particular. She founded Climate Governance Malaysia which is the country chapter of the World Economic Forum’s Climate Governance Initiative, is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia, promotes gender diversity on boards with the 30% Club, a member of the Global Advisory Board of Nottingham University's School of Business and the Advisory Panel of the UN Global Compact Malaysia’s Sustainability Center of Excellence, and is a workstream lead for the CEO Action Network, an industry led initiative to increase sustainability and climate resilience. She is Chair of Caring Pharmacy and independent director of Bursa-listed Dutch Lady Milk Industries, MCIS Insurance (a member of the Sanlam group) and Zurich General Insurance, as well as trustee of 5 charitable foundations.



Sharmila Sekarajasekaran
is an independent non-executive director of Top Glove, a partner in the law firm of Jerald Gomez & Associates, with areas of practice in Intellectual Property, Banking Litigation, Corporate Advisory and Family & Estate Claims, and a consultant to the RIM Group.

Khor Yu Leng
is an independent non-executive director of Rohas Tecnic Berhad, an economics consultant at Segi Enam Advisors Pte Ltd, an Associate (Sustainability) at the SIIA. Her work has been presented at the European Commission, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Oslo University, ETH Zurich (Singapore), L'Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Cambridge University, and at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute.

Dr Sarinder Kumari
is an independent non-executive director at Sunway Construction Bhd. She has wide experience in policy and strategic planning, project management, trade negotiations, regulatory and Government affairs. She was a Partner at PEMANDU Associates and has served the Malaysian Government in various portfolios with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of International Trade and Industry and the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) in the Prime Minister’s Department, Malaysia.

Salwah binti Abdul Shukor
is an independent non-executive director of UMW Holdings. She is also Partner and Head of the Corporate Department and Intellectual Property at Zain & Co, a member of the Bursa Malaysia Listing Committee, sits on the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board and the Member Engagement Committee of Meritas Law Firms Worldwide. She is a trustee on the board of GOLD (Generating Employment for the Learning Disabled) as well as the advisory boards of Charity Right and Sultan Ahmad Shah Environment Trust.


Dr Chak Choy Sim
is an independent director of Franklin Templeton GSC Asset Management, a freelance researcher with focus on areas relating to financial governance. She used to work at the Securities Commission, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Vienna) and the Employees Provident Fund.

Tan Beng Leng
is an independent non-executive director at Hai-O Enterprise Berhad, where she is also Chairperson of the Audit Committee, a member of the Risk Management Committee, Remuneration Committee and Sustainability Steering Committee. Ms. Tan has more than 30 years' experience in investment research and fund management including being Chief Investment Officer of Meridian Asset Management, and Chief Investment Officer and a partner at Kumpulan Sentiasa Cemerlang Sdn. Bhd.
